The folders inside were NOT set the same as the main folder, but changing them to match the main MEGA folder did not solve the problem as I thought it would. I was able to open "MEGA" via browser because permissions were set exactly as bigpup described. "MEGA" is the name MEGASync gave the main folder when it synced with Puppy to create local files. One on the local MEGA folders on my USB stick and the other in the MEGASync program itself. (I was successful in getting text files to upload into email, which didn't work initially, I swear.) I'll keep experimenting with other file formats, but generally speaking, in Mint it just works in Puppy I need to troubleshoot further.
